Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences
The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was firstly established on 21 January 1975 with the name of Muğla School of Business Administration under the administration of Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences. Since 1982, the faculty has continued its activities as Muğla School of Business Administration under the administration of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In 1992, after the establishment of the University of Muğla, the School was converted into a Faculty by changing its name and association.
In our faculty, which provides education at the undergraduate level, there was only the Department of Business Administration in the 1992-1993 academic year while the Department of Economics and the evening education of mentioned departments were introduced in the 1993-1994 academic year. The Department of Public Administration opened in the 1995-1996 academic year. Since the evening education was abolished as of the 1999-2000 academic year, no students enrolled in the first grade. However, from the beginning of the 2001-2002 academic year, students enrolled again in the evening education of the Departments of Economics, Business Administration, and Public Administration. From the beginning of the 2004-2005 academic year, the Department of Labor Economics, and Industrial Relations, and from the beginning of the 2012-2013 academic year, the Department of Political Science and International Relations undertook educational activities. In the 2013-2014 academic year, the Department of International Trade and Finance within the faculty started education by accepting students with an additional quota. The Department of Finance does not provide education yet.
In the faculty, education activities proceed in the Departments of Business Administration, Business Administration Evening Education, Economics, Economics Evening Education, Economics (English), Public Administration, Public Administration Evening Education, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Political Science and International Relations, and International Trade and Finance.
Between 1999-2003, the faculty continued education in buildings with a closed area of 16980 m², consisting of a 6-story classroom block, a 6-story administrative block, and two lecture halls with two floors each. Since the beginning of the 2003-2004 academic year, the faculty continues educational services in buildings with a closed area of 7383 m², consisting of a 2-story classroom block and a 3-story administrative block built by Mr. Sıtkı KOÇMAN. The construction of the administrative block with a closed area of 2088 m² started in April 2011, was completed in March 2012, and brought into use.
